Cyma was a Swiss watch company that was founded in 1862, and the company produced a wide range of watches with different movements and designs.
Cyma Tavannes is a former Swiss watchmaking company that was created when two separate companies, Cyma and Tavannes, merged in 1903. The company was known for producing high-quality mechanical movements and watches. Also, their watches were particularly popular in the mid-20th century and were known for their precision and reliability featuring high-quality movements, including automatic and chronometer-grade calibers.
In the 1960s, the company was acquired by the group that would later become the Swatch Group.

Today, we are presenting a very rare timepiece, it is a vintage Cyma wristwatch reference 032D and dated from circa 1940.
It is a manual wind watch powered by an original Cyma movement, caliber Ref. 032D, patented, sub-second, Swiss made. It beats at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour (vph) and it has a power reserve of around 40 hours.
This watch still has the original silver dial (showing some age and patina) featuring gold printed Arabic Numerals, railroad minute/second track and gold matching hands. The sub-second is located at 6 o’clock and the dial is also signed with the Cyma name/logo.
It is cased in a 26x35mm rectangle (tank) case with stepped sides and fixed lug bars, stainless steel case back.
This watch comes on a brand-new green Nato one-piece strap.
It is still in good condition. Runs very well and keeps great time.

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.

The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended.
